Conapto and SEOM cooperates for a sustainable society

Conapto and SEOM (Sollentuna Energi & Miljö AB) have agreed on a plan to re-use and recycle the excess heat that is generated from Conaptos datacenter into the district heating. Only from the data center placed in Sollentuna, the heat will cover up to 1800 homes per year.

”This in an important milestone in our work to contribute to a sustainable society. We are working according to an aggressive sustainability strategy with the goal to be climate neutral. A part of that is improving efficiency, where heat re-usage is a perfect contribution.” says Håkan Björklund, CEO at Conapto.

Conapto was early on with working with renewable energy sources and has used 100% wind power to run their data centers since 2009. The heat re-usage, among with a solar panel initiative, is the current projects to be able to offer climate neutral data centers.

”For us at SEOM, this is a significant improvement, Conapto being the first data center we connect to the district heating. We continuously work to be minimize our environmental impact and when we have this solution in place, it will cover approximately 1800 homes in the area.” says Monika Söderlund Andreasson at SEOM
